Alshaya's largest ever summer student programme gets underway

Kuwaiti youth get a chance to explore a career in retail this summer through an internship program for one month led by MH Alshaya Co., a leading retailer in the region, in partnership with the restructuring of the labor of the work of government (PRMM).

Retail continues to grow in the region, create jobs for young people exciting. Alshaya internship program, now in its eleventh year, is all about showing the diversity of careers open to young Kuwaitis who are considering a future in this dynamic sector.The company is proud to work with the PRMM to support the development of men and young Kuwaiti women. Alshaya is the largest private sector company operating a summer program in Kuwait.

The students, who are from various high schools, colleges and universities in Kuwait, will attend the four-week summer programs for vocational training throughout July.They spend four hours each day in a row of stores across Kuwait, including locations in the Avenues, Souk Sharq and Marina Mall and will have the opportunity to work with large retail brands including H & M, PF Chang, Pinkberry and Bath & Body Works. All participants in the program through the PRMM, who are responsible for promoting a better understanding of employment opportunities in the private sector.

"Youth are the future of Kuwait and it is very encouraging to see so many of them chose to take four weeks of their summer vacation to focus on their development," said Mohammed Alshaya, Executive Chairman of MH Alshaya Co. In addition to gaining practical work experience, the 2011 summer interns will receive training and training on many aspects of how a store is managed as sales, promotions, customer service, merchandising and inventory management. At the end of their internship, students will have acquired an understanding of the nature of jobs and careers that are available commercially. They will also be informed about the skills and qualifications that are needed to support their careers.
